Docking platforms/Spaceships from Space Exploration (SE vs Space Age)

I think docking spaceships in Space Exploration mod - is likely the most interesting feature that hooks me up to SE.
Hovewer I found myself struggling between
"Should I play SE? But I want thouse new planets and SE is an ovehaul it might conflict with them..."
and
"Should I play planets + Space Age, without SE... But then, I wouldn't have spaceships..."

I think https://mods.factorio.com/user/Earendel would eventually merge SE with Space Age and he is quite busy with this task already...
But even then: would we EVER get SE to be compartible with most Planetary mods? I doubt that's really possible ever.

So I wonder... Could we extract that part - "Spaceships standalone" from Space Exploration?
That would be kind of "Space Exploration Lite version" from my perspective.

Of course even better would be if "Spaceships" would be extracted and reused by SE itself so there wouldn't be code dublication (just like AAI Loaders)...

And that one would merge almost perfectly with vanilla game, quality, all planet mods without conflicting, ever.

I do understand that this is rather big chunk of work though... And I don't know if anyone except for Earendel could and may do it without his permission...

I feel so unnatural that you can fly platform to another planet or moon, but you can't fly with it to another platform, can't dock it.
Its just too unrealistic and frustrating, on Earth we have space station dock with rockets on very regular basis.
And you can't even pass some items between platforms. I know I know, there is P2P mod and other mods that just "do the job", but these are "crutches" just to live somehow. One wouldn't say it's "a good and beautiful final solution" it's rather a workaround...

In fact I think this mechanic should be part of vanilla game but we all know that this is unlikely to happen.

What do you guys think about all these?
... Or at least could you state "I want / don't want Spaceships standalone"?

I really like the SE spaceships, I just don't see how this could ever be implemented to work with SA instead of SE.
Cool idea, but probably not that feasible.
