TL;DR
*Spoiled first* inserter function should work on belt (it does not now)
Problem:
The inserter does not take the closest item to it, it always starts with the farthest one. If the belt is full, this means that on any belt, the end item will always apoil. Depending on the length of the belt and the speed of decay, it will affect the *optimal ratios* if the player tries to do everything *mathematically correctly*. Which is impossible due to this problem cuz ur items ALWAYS will spoil and ur eggs ALWAYS will hatch because current design. That makes problems that are not related to the design of the factory, and a posible solution is to use robots because the inserter not works here, but not everyone likes robots.

Additional problem:
Additionally, player cannot full belt lane. If you have green belt with x4 stack unlocked, because insetret takes not a spoilage first but a fixed item position on belt, thats mean all other stacks will spoil. If you use somethink than can limit lane input and using belt as buffer (for example, Agricultural towen Disable if items on belt more than X), fixing that make items never spoilable with PLAYER design cuz
1) belt will be enought full to make items pickable
2) belt will be not enought full to make items spoil
3) inserter will pick most spoiled items from belt
4) Agricultural towen will drop pure 100% items on belt drain
5) result - player beat spoilage.
But with GAME DESIGN, player should limiting belt stack size (for some belts, i am using fixed stack size like x1 (nutriens), x2 (jellynut), x3 (eggs)) just for make spoilage less and its not a *spoilage fight*, its *game design fight*. As well, mean player cant use belt as buffer in this case to make production more limited to not overload belt

Expected result on fixing:
It will help fight the spoil, as intended. I mean, players can finally solve spoilage problems with their factory design.

+1. I've had this problem too.
