How do I make Factoriopedia Simulations?

Hello everyone,
As the title says, I'm wondering how to make Factoriopedia simulations (or simulations in general). Does anyone have a proper documentation on this stuff?
I've read the prototype documentation but that doesn't really help. I'm still rather new on this, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Factoriopedia Extended adds some extra Simulations. The source code (on Github) seems well-laid-out - you should be able to adapt it to your needs, or talk to the author directly to see if they would accept a Pull Request.
