That's what it takes.

is the BP for what you see. It started with the question "What does it take to process a full green belt of random chunks?" and it turns out the above is the answer. I found lots of people making single item ships (only iron, only coal, etc). This ship does all 3 in one. It is not particularly hard to reduce the design down to only output one roid type, just add a stage that reprocesses legendary 'bad' types with prod modules.

Note: This was ONLY tested on the run from the Solar System Edge to the Shattered Planet. In my testing, that was the only place with rocks dense enough to fill a belt easily. Though, now that I see...this might work in other places with some tweaking to handle the ratios.

Notes for testing/changes:
  • the inner belts that deposit results need to be roughly equal length and spread to the inner tracks evenly. Design will jam if you have too many together.
  • About 50 legendary crushers can be in a module before your belts cannot supply enough rocks to keep them all busy.
  • The single blue belt is because I didn't want to use one extra tile of width, and you don't need 60 items/s to feed the modules, they can't consume that much anyway while still reprocessing their outputs.
  • 8 legendary fast inserters can fill/consume a green belt of chunks, so if you're in super dense asteroids, you get one full green belt every 8 inserters.
  • Outputs enough legendary metallic chunks to keep 23 legendary smelters busy (prod3 modules), no speed beacons). ....oh right, I finally have fusion power and can actually afford speed beacons.
