Cargo wagon quality filters

Post by MrGreaterThan »

TL;DR
Cargo wagon filters should allow setting quality only, like splitters and inserters already do.

What?
Cargo wagon item slots allow you to set item filters on them to reserve those slots for a given item type but currently do not allow you to filter by quality only the way that splitters and inserters do.

:warning: After selecting the quality button on the filter picker, the "confirm" button is disabled, so the filter cannot be set for quality only. :warning:
Why?
I think it logically follows that if these types of quality-only filters can be set on splitters and inserters then these item slot filters should be able to do so as well. This would allow me to have my trains only accept items of a given quality which can be useful when trying to only accept basic items. A similar result can be achieved by using filtered inserters/splitters but I believe it would require two train stations or train ID aware circuitry.

I would also like to be able to add quality-only conditions on trains and circuits. Currently my use case is that I have a train which most stations will only accept normal ingredients from. This will cause the number of quality ingredients in the train to build up and I want to set an interrupt that fires once the number of ingredients of greater than normal quality reaches a certain threshold so the quality ingredients can be taken to a separate area. The attaches screenshot shows that the interrupt dialog doesn't allow quality-only item conditions either.
