Remote operate trash slots on landing pad

Post by quigonquinn0 »

TL;DR
Move items out of the trash, and back into the inventory on landing pads, remotely
What?

The problem is, I'm on Nauvis, I have a bunch of items that ended up in my trash slots in my landing pad on Fulgora. Probably from changing the requests to max 0 without thinking about it.
I don't have a robot network on that island. Just inserters onto belts to a train to my main base.
Even if I change the requests back to a value >0, the items still stay in the trash.
Is there any way we can move items out of the trash, and back into the inventory so the inserters can grab them? Or have the inserters able to pull from trash slots?
Why?

I agree. I've just had the same thing happen on Vulcanus, importing ice. When my ship was in orbit everything worked fine, but after leaving and coming back to the planet it grew into a bigger stock, which was auto-trashed by the default cap of 50/50... Now the inserters can't grab it, nor can it be removed from the slot. So... that's a reload.

More infuriatingly though, the system naturally ran through the 50 ice it kept in real inventory slots, and then it became stuck requesting more ice... when the request could be satisfied by the very stack of items stuck in the trash-slot purgatory. Could there be a check to see if X is requested, is there any X in a trash slot?
