Hi everyone,
I rotated this plant on fulgora and the fluid refills even though it shouldn't be able to. And it appears to generate new "electrolyte" fluid out of thin air.
The way I think it can be caused is to connect it, let the fluid fill up(?), let the plant making the super capacitors start crafting and then rotate to disconnect it. But it appears to only work for one plant. If I do it with another, it "normalizes" the first one and the second becomes "bugged". (?)
There seems to be some update tick at some point that fixes this? It behaves normally after some point. that periodically checks for connections, it doesn't last forever.
As you can read, it's not a super clean 100% reproduction guide, but I attached a save file with the plant in the bugged state.
I hope this one is valid, new, entertaining and all the good things.
Thanks for making the game, I'm still having fun optimizing things.

Re: [2.0.47] unconnected electromagnetic plant refills fluid
Thanks for the report however this is working correctly. Electromagnetic plants have internal pipes which are used for the "fluid flows through them" logic. When you rotate it, the internal pipe still has some volume and that's used in the crafting as more is needed.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

No, I'm saying, at least on my machine, I can watch the value for how much fluid is inside the plant go up while it is not connected.
And the statistics graph shows I'm not making more fluid and the value in the now disconnected pipe doesn't go down either.
It's fine if you treat this as a "wont' fix", because I can't really see a massive impact from this right now.
I made a short video and attached it.

Re: [2.0.47] unconnected electromagnetic plant refills fluid
It's a slight misconception you're working off of here, think of it this way, you have the EM plant sitting on top of two layers of tanks, the bottom tank is the one actually connected to the pipes but is hidden from the player, above that bottom tank is another tank that the recipe draws from which is the one you can see in the machine, that 2nd layer tank in turn draws from the bottom tank which is slowly draining.brucemalt wrote: Tue May 13, 2025 6:40 am No, I'm saying, at least on my machine, I can watch the value for how much fluid is inside the plant go up while it is not connected.

That behaviour is just a little more evident with the Fulgora recipes that only require a little fluid. In effect you will only start seeing the recipe fluid amount drop below 400 after that bottom tank has been drained dry which can take a while.
What you can try is hook up a tank to an output pipe on the EM plant and then deconstruct the EM plant. You should see more than 400 fluid get pushed into that tank.
