Can me anybody explain how to set up the traffic light for the trains on both side.
My game let me only place them on the right side
I have a line track ( I needed trafiiclight on both side. Don‘t want to rebuild my station in a circle form. I‘ve searched the internet „ all tut telling they can placed on both side) any they build circle lines.
On my game they only could place right( left sides there a no green squares. Only the stops can placed bothsided. What I do wrong?

Re: Train help( traffic light )
In order to make a track bi-directional you have to place pairs of signals. Once you put a signal it tells the game trains can only go this direction say east to west. If you put a signal that is not paired, it tells the game that trains can only go west to east - in other words it makes that section of track unusable because you can't have a train that is both going east to west AND going west to east. That is why the signals have to be paired. The game shows you where you can place a paired signal, using a little white square. I am including a picture showing what you should see. Hope this helps!

Also it helps us to help you if you can include a picture of your problem. Take it during the game day to make it easier to see. For anything to do with trains, hold a signal in your hand so you can see the blocks. Use a screenshot tool don't take a picture using your phone.Useful links to train information: https://wiki.factorio.com/Railway https://wiki.factorio.com/Tutorial:Train_signals

Re: Train help( traffic light )
Thx that will help a lot
But know I need to remodel my tracks…
It would be easer if you could place traffic light like train stops

Re: Train help( traffic light )
That wouldn't work. For the trains to run the track needs to be divided up into segments. If a track is used bidirectional, the segments - which are defined by the signals - have to be the same in both directions. So that's the reason you're forced to place the signals on opposite sides.Schneck007 wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 5:12 am Thx that will help a lot

Re: Train help( traffic light )
Nothing has changed, you still have signals on one side of the track and you still only have one track for both directions.
The placement of chain vs regular signals makes no sense either.
You should finish the train tutorials first for a basic understanding and then ask specific questions afterwards.

I‘ve already done it
Re: Train help( traffic light )
It seems to me that you still need to understand the signaling basics. If you want to, I can give you a hand. I'll write you a private message.

Check out 53937 if you want to stick to bidirectional track.
