Tl;dr
Add the following inventory controls (should not conflict with ghost placement or zoom):- (when items held in cursor) Shift + left click: Drop 5
- (when items held in cursor) Shift + right click: Drop 20
- (when items held in cursor) Shift + mouse wheel up/down: Drop/take one item per mouse wheel tick
Add the following crafting controls:
- Shift + right click: craft 20
What
What it says above.Current inventory controls:
- Left click: picks up stack
- Right click: picks up half of the stack
- Shift + left click: transfer multiple stacks
- Shift + right click: transfer half of multiple stacks
- Ctrl + left click: transfer all of one item type, or all items
- Ctrl + right click: transfer half of one item type, or half of all items
- (when stack in cursor) Left click: places down stack
- (when stack in cursor) Right click: places down 1 unit
- (when stack in cursor) Shift + left click: nothing
- (when stack in cursor) Shift + right click: nothing
- (when stack in cursor) Ctrl + left click: same as normal
- (when stack in cursor) Ctrl + right click: same as normal
As you can see, there are 2 potential common binds that could be used when an item is held.
On top of that, the mouse wheel is never used.
Why
It's just nice to have, for when you want to place an exact amount of something into a machine or inventory. Also useful for when you have a lot of iron in your inventory and wants to craft gears, but not as many gears as you could craft.
For the shift + left click and right click, it would also be extremely useful early game for feeding coal to furnaces more evenly, and doing the same for other things across the game.
Just... quality of life in general.
