[Twinsen]Loading sprites takes forever with Switch joycon connected on Windows

Post by Frickerson »

I have Factorio installed on my Windows 11 machine. When I tried to launch the game, it would be stuck at 50% Loading Sprites.
After looking into the logs, I found out the following:

Code: Select all

507.885 Game controller disconnected: instance: 183, (nil), (nil)
507.885 Joystick device disconnected: instance: 183, (nil)
510.515 Warning SDLWindow.cpp:1146: Couldn't open newly added controller: Couldn't setup USB mode
This was printed about 183 times consecutively.
I then remembered I has a Switch joycon connected to my PC with Bluetooth + it was in the charging grip which was connected to my PC with USB. Turning off the joycon solved the issue.

A very specific scenario, but thought I might as well report it.

I can't replicate the issue. I tried plugging and unplugging a few times, reconnecting Bluetooth.

I've seen similar gamepad USB issues a few times but never figured what's happening, best I can do is blame them on poor USB connections.

You can try enabling Steam Input and see what happens.
