I don't know if anyone else has had this idea, but I don't see it mentioned anywhere . . .
Shouldn't solar panels and other energy providers have a short radius at with they automatically share energy? That way, you can have a large block of solar panels that connect on their own, or even just place solar panels next to a lone auto miner that you don't want to power with a line from your base.
I understand that this change would affect the balance of power management a little, since it would be somewhat easier and cheaper to make more compact and efficient builds, but I honestly think this would not be so big of a change it would throw off the balance.
What do you guys think?

That's something I have told to myself numerous times, can't remember if I have seen this exact suggestion on this forum either (although I've seen things about powered rails, ...).

I agree with that. I hate that substations have a range that I consider so small. I love bobs substations since they are way bigger.
