Update failed from 2.0.27 -> 2.0.28 Wube Standalone Version

Post by BendingUnit »

Hello,

for some time now i am unable to update Factorio. I am getting this error:
Update failed:
Checking update packages failed: File C:/Program Files/Factorio/data/../doc-html/types/TransportBeltConnectorFrame.html has unexpected content
I was waiting since i thought it might be a general issue to be fixed but i guess its only me then.

This is the Non-Steam Version straight from Wube. Its clean as a whistle. When i started fresh with Space Age i have not installed any Mods and am playing vanilla.

Any thoughts?

(copy savegames away, uninstall, reinstall i guesss)

Regards,

edit: issue solved. Factorio 2 as it turns out CAN be installed on top of Factorio 1 and even shares the same version numbers, despite being a different game which should be installed separately. There should be installation instructions somewhere but there appear to not be any.

I am experiencing a similar and possibly related issue. I cannot play Space Age because it won't install properly. (Read: won't, not didn't.)

I updated Factorio to the latest version because I thought that was how I install Space Age. I couldn't find any button or anything to upgrade to Space Age, so I finally exited the game and downloaded Space Age directly from the website and used that installer. It gives me a mixed version installation, with Factorio.exe reading as version 2.0.29.

When I try to run it, it gives me this error (see attached image).
