Ability to see what is the current playing song.

Post by BlackHat »

TL;DR
Have the ability to see what is the name of the currently playing song.
What?
I would like for either:
1) When a new song starts playing, there is a message in the chat log(?). [The place where currently as a tech is finished you get a message on the left side of its completion.] There could be a setting to enable or disable this feature.
2) Displayed at the top of the screen next to the FPS/UPS indicator. (or below it like the Clock indicator.) and again, there could be a setting to enable or disable this feature.
Why?
I like to know what sang is playing. I have several mods adding new songs to my game, and want to see (if or how often) the other songs play.

Currently I can use the debug menu (F4) and click show-detailed-info to show info about the music. (music paused time, & song name when playing)
But there is a lot of other info being displayed also which clutters the screen if I want to monitor the status of the music for an extended time.

Thanks,
BlackHat

I would use such feature if there was one. I'm making mods that adds song to the game, and it's easy to get lost when using the layered sound system, between very similar variation of the same track. There is a debug menu for "recently played sound" or something, but it shows all the sounds, and it's possible that the ambient music is pushed far down the list and thus invisible, having a setting to be able to read which music is playing "at all time", possibly the particular file would be helpful for me to debug the mods when it starts to play something due to coding mistake.
