I've seen a few people either failing to read crucial information (or it not being presented to them) and launching themselves to space so that they can build there, not knowing they can do it from remote view. Some people also build power poles on the platform unnecessarily, but there is no feedback to indicate this isn't necessary unless they try it and it just works.
I suggest not letting someone travel to a space platform until it has a rocket engine built (invalid destination when they select it, saying they need to build the engine first). After all, there is zero reason to go to a space platform without engines.
I also suggest preventing power poles from being built on space platforms (just like chests).

People use power poles for wiring circuits, especially on larger ships if nothing else is convenient to extend wires.
I would be quite happy if the copper wires never got added to them on a platform however.
