Hello Factorio Team,
thanks for the great Space Age DLC!
Maybe I'm blind but one piece I can not find is the ability to see if the solar panels I build on my space platform are sufficient to power all the machines. Or phrased differently I can not find a quick ability to gain insights into the Consumption/Production of the current "Electric Network" while on Space.
Possible Ideas:
- Add the "Electric Network Information" into the "Production"-Tab that can be toggeled by "P" (why is the "Electric Network Information" missing there anyways?)
- Invent a new Hotkey to toggle the "Electric Network Information"
- Something else?
Workarounds:
- Build an electric pole in space (feels a bit off as I don't need to power machines using poles).
Thank you for your time and of course an awesome addictive game!
PS: I searched for similar issues, but could not find any, so apologies if this is a duplicate.
Toggle Electric Network Information [on a Space-Platform]
Re: Toggle Electric Network Information [on a Space-Platform]
Click on the space platform hub and then on the electricity symbol on the top right in the GUI that opens, which is labelled "Show electric network".

Because you can have different electric networks on a planet, so it wouldn't know which one to show. Hence why you have to click an actual pole.snooozer wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 8:36 am - Add the "Electric Network Information" into the "Production"-Tab that can be toggeled by "P" (why is the "Electric Network Information" missing there anyways?)
Of course there's only one network on a space platform....
(I've seen several people struggle to find the electric network information on space platforms, I wonder if anyone has an idea to make it more obvious? Perhaps a big button on the bottom right where it shows the platforms weight and speed?)

Thank you so much! Indeed somewhat hidden, but yeah I clearly didn't see thatjaylawl wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 10:19 am Click on the space platform hub and then on the electricity symbol on the top right in the GUI that opens, which is labelled "Show electric network".

From my view the Production Tab ("P") could just summarize all the different Production/Consumption on the entire surface.IsaacOscar wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 1:27 pmBecause you can have different electric networks on a planet, so it wouldn't know which one to show. So it would be the summary of all electric networks.
But indeed with different electric networks on a planet this might get a bit more tricky. Maybe something like the Logistics Network ("L") that shows the Production/Consumption of each Electrical Network?
Re: Toggle Electric Network Information [on a Space-Platform]
I think the button in the GUI is fine enough for the time being. It just needs to be made more apparent if indeed so many people are missing out on this.
