SA: No Way to Pass Circuit Logic Signals to Space Platform?

Don't know how to use a machine? Looking for efficient setups? Stuck in a mission?

SA: No Way to Pass Circuit Logic Signals to Space Platform?

Post by Worloq »

I have a giant scrap processing array on Fulgora. I'd like to export excess inventory to Nauvis to avoid the array locking up because of an excess of one type of inventory, e.g. "Processing Units", i.e. blue circuits. It's reasonably straightforward to dump everything to storage and diff inventory levels against an array of set points. I don't see an elegant way to say if any > set point, send that - set point to Nauvis. I can tell a platform to request a lot of everything I might export, and have the Nauvis hub request a lot of everything I might export, but Fulgora can still lock if I start accumulating too much relative to how much I'm asking for. From a systems standpoint, I see how to do it in open loop, where I guess at the various request levels, but I'd like to create a closed loop control where the system sets the requests based upon a diff against an array of set points.

Anyone? Buehler?

Thanks!

Nope, sorry.
The best you can do is send rockets to the platform and somehow encode the information in the rockets contents (but you can't automatically send rockets with mixed contents, and the space platform must request the items for the rocket to send up, but you can set a minimum payload).

Personally, I just recycle stuff to nothing if I have too much of it, or just construct more and more chests to store it

I also wish we were able to communicate with platforms in orbit - but it wouldn't solve your issue anyway and rather just move it downstream. Eventually, either your space platform would be at capacity and/or your storage in Nauvis would be full. There simply is a limit of storage on Fulgora after which items must be destroyed in recyclers (happy to be corrected on this by being shown a better way). At the very least though, you could upcycle whatever surplus you have into higher quality items. That will give you an extreme buffer.

Agree with this. Sooner you later you have to recycle the excess to keep Fulgora moving.

Processing units recycle into a huge amount of green circuits which you need anyway plus some red circuits. Put quality modules in your blue chip recycler and use the excess to craft legendary quality module 3's. The cost of those is so high, it will function a lot like the sink for excess resources that you desire.
