[2.0.15] Trains pasted from blueprint lose their group depending on the order that wagons are attached.

Post by somatochlora »

I've described the problem below with fluid wagons, but the same behaviour happens with a similar train with cargo wagons.

I have the following blueprint which includes:
  • A locomotive
  • A train group for that locomotive
  • A request for fuel for that locomotive
  • 2 fluid wagons
  • No tracks, I paste it on existing tracks
Blueprint:

Code: Select all

When I place it down, I've found that sometimes the resulting trains end up with no train group and set to "manual". After some investigation, it appears that if my bots happen to place down the locomotive and the rear fluid wagon first, and then place the middle wagon, my train loses its group when the middle wagon is placed. I.e. if we label the locomotive 1 and the wagons 2 and 3, the following placement orders work fine:
  • 123
  • 231
  • 321
  • 213
The following placement orders cause the train to lose it's group:
  • 132
  • 312
Possibly relevant: My train schedule has *no normal stops*, only interrupts. This setup works normally (with dozens of trains over many hours) and I have not had any issues with trains losing their group or getting reset to manual except right when I first place the blueprint.

I've attached my save and log file, and an image with the usual areas I paste the blueprint circled.

I was going to post a similar issue but having trouble duplicating. Seems random so far. I have a train BP and sometimes when I put it down and build the train it will also lose the group. Schedule/group are paremeterized. I have to delete then repeat the process and it will usually work the second time. Doing it manually though so doesn't seem to be related to what you've duplicated with the order of wagons being built as I'm just attaching them 1-4 in order but maybe the ultimate cause is related?

I believe I have the same but different issue. Bots will build a blueprinted train (no difference between with a track or without a track) and the train will randomly be blank and missing the blueprinted schedule. I also believe it has to do with the build order which the bots ultimately control. Happens (seemingly) so randomly it's difficult to reproduce easily.

Edit: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=117696 might have resolved this one?
