[2.0.17] Re-requesting trashed items behaves unreasonable

Post by IsaacOscar »

This might not be a bug, but was really annoying me (because I kept making mistakes with my logist chest setups).
What did you do?
  1. Made a storage chest and requester chest (a buffer chest would also behave the same)
  2. Made a request for 100 iron plates in the requester chest
  3. Checked the button to trash unrequested items
  4. Disabled the request (by just unchecking the logistic group)
  5. Re-enabled the request (by re-checking the logistic group)
See the configuration of the chest after 3:

What happened?
After step 4, a robot came to move some of the iron plates away to a storage chest.
After step 5:
  • the robot from above was still carrying some iron plates
  • the robot put the iron plates in the storage chest
  • the robotcame back to the requester chest
  • the robot spent some time moving the remaining iron plates from the trash slots to the main part of the chest
  • the robot then went back to the storage chest to pick up the iron plates and move them back to the requester chest.
What did you expect to happen instead?
Ideally, I would like the following to have happened after step 5:
  • the iron plates in the trash slots instantly move into the main inventory
  • the robot carrying the iron plates stops going towards the storage chest, and moves back to the requester chest (possibly charging on the way), and deposits the iron plates in the chest
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
Always

Thanks for the report, this is not a bug. Some cases like this are handled simpler than expected because more complex logic could have higher overhead.
