PFFT!! Please..

9800X3D single thread benchmark (Factorio) is ranked #31 on passmark. Still under the 14700k. The 245KF is ranked #5 at half the cost.

AMD die hards have lost it with all of these overclocked bench reviews and comparison charts that don't even include arrow lake-s in the lineup.

How is Passmark the same as Factorio tho? We need to see Factorio benchmarks, I haven't yet.

I don't know what any of that means. Do you have a link?

From everything I've read, Intel doesn't have great Linux support, so personally, I don't even consider Intel for a Factorio computer.

Passmark is just irrelevant synthetic benching; gaming is a completely different story.
See here how the 9800X3D behaves (more than twice as fast as the 14700k):

Interesting. I am going to try running that map and see what I get. I just said (Factorio) because it only utilizes one CPU thread and is mostly using only the CPU and little GPU. I wonder how overclocked those 2 9800X3D samples are, but I suppose you get that with any benchmark software. It's not like I imagine it would be too terribly different with more samples, but still I wish you could see benches with clock speeds and filter out OC'd samples.

The point of those X3D cpu's is their huge amount of cache which happens to be kinda beneficial in gaming workloads. They do good in Factorio benchmarks but, even that are just benchmarks. It would be interesting to have some number comparisons from real-world maps running on different CPU's.

As mentioned in the comments on Gamers Nexus' videos, benchmarks with chaotic late-game saves are what really matter. Nobody needs to run their starter base at 600 UPS. When I briefly tested a 5800X3D, it struggled with my modded megabases. I know the 9800X3D improves clock speed and thermals a lot in comparison. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out.

It's in Polish however translated subtitles are accurate. He used unspecified benchmarking script (at least not anything I'm aware of).
