This is an UI improvement.
Not a problem, bug or crash with priority.
Basic Premise:
After unlocking quality, setting up a filter needs to specify the quality of the item to filter.
When selecting a filter (for example in an inserter), it's easy to set it up by double clicking the item for 90% of the time.
It defaults to Normal, which is working fine unless you really start getting into Quality grinding or filtering.
And if I want a different quality (e.g. Uncommon), I can select that and then double click the item.
So far, so good.
When starting to work with different qualities (which I have now done in my Gleba base), I often want to filter for any.
E.g. exctract any seed, no matter the quality.
Otherwise the machine clogs up.
But we have the Any filter, so all good. Almost.
Problem Description:
When setting up the =Any quality filter, I have to take extra clicks to set it up compared to any other quality.
This is due to how the quality selection for filters defaults in the popup.
It starts at =Any by default When selecting an item, it jumps to =Normal, unless you change the quality settings before selecting the item So the only ways are to either first select the item, then change the quality setting after it jumped to Normal.
Or I have to first change the quality to something else, then back to =Any, and THEN double click the item.
Proposal:
One of two easy changes in the UI behaviour.
- Change the starting default in the popup to =Normal, so that quality can be set up directly to =Any and then double click same as other quality settings.
Side Effects: Little, as you can do the same steps as now for the same behaviour, but it enables a bit easier setting up specifically =Any filters with double clicking
- Change the default for double clicking to =Any
Side Effects: Medium, as this will change how the filter is set up when using double click. So it changes what players may have already have gotten used to.
