Make the stack inserter recipe exclusive to Gleba’s surface, just like turbo belts are exclusive to Vulcanus.Why?
Besides the simple “it makes sense and I think it would be neat”, my reasoning for this is actually quite complex…With the help of a calculator, you may notice that it’s surprisingly rocket efficient to ship unpeeled fruits from Gleba and make carbon fiber and all related products elsewhere!
The rocket capacities of of yumako and fiber are 1000 and 500 respectively. If you use speed or efficiency beacons to optimize nutrient efficiency, you can actually process 1000 yumakos into much more than 500 fiber! And with higher quality productivity modules, this advantage only increases.
This is a case where it’s not only viable, but in fact optimal to ship the rawest possible ingredients and centralize all processing. I think this weakens the inteprlanetary logistics aspect of the game, and moves Gleba just one step closer to the undesirable “mining outpost” status.
I believe the best way to counteract this, would be to make stack inserters (easily the most highly demanded carbon fiber product) a Gleba exclusive recipe. It would be consistent with the way other planets handle their exclusive recipes. They’re always finished products, never intermediate items.
I don’t believe such measures would be required for other carbon fiber products. Half of them are on Aquilo (if you’re willing to build beaconed bio industry on Aquilo, then you’ve earned this benefit, lol), the rocket turret isn’t very significant (and other turrets aren’t exclusive either), and the spidertron is already more of a Nauvis item than a Gleba item.
I hope my pleas are heard, this is like the fifth Gleba related post I’ve made in only a few days!
