[2.0.11] Liquid Barreling vs New Fluid Types

Post by DragoonGXG »

TL;DR
Not all of the new fluids can be transported via barrels
What?
Would it be possible to have the newer types of fluids like Electrolyte and Holmium Solution be added to the barreling process?
Prior to unlocking the deep ocean foundations it would be nice to be able to relocate fluids by some means prior to unlocking of the planet related train research.

There are some fluids that would be exceptions due to temperature or other factors.

Why?
1) Personal issue surely, I don't like to waste (much).
2) Currently we are gated behind research preventing the use of trains and fluid wagons. , you are simply out of luck.
3) Did someone say BOATS!? Sorry where was I, fluid transported across the oil ocean is impossible due to a lack of end game "foundations", even in shallow locations.

Scenario:
I initially setup camp right when I landed in Fulgora. The starting space was tiny, but I was making due.
Later after my base was setup I found a more suitable location.
I'm unable to move the liquid Holmium & Electrolyte I've currently created to the new base.
I still lack the deep foundations research to being using a fluid wagon for transportation.

Fluid transferring via barrels could apply to other planets however, I haven't gotten far enough into the game to see if this is the case.

[Space Age] Electrolyte Barrel

Electrolyte and Holmiun Solution do not have barreling recipes/products.

I don't know if other fluids are lacking barreling recipes at the moment, please consider adding the barreling recipes for all fluids if its a sensible approach.

The answer states: that there are no barrel for these fluids seems to be intended.

Some recipes involved with the new fluids require the high magnetic field of Fulgora as it seems - so exporting barrels of electrolytes to other planets is likely not helpful anyways.

To me it seems intentional, to make these fluids impossible to ship between planets. They only added barrels of fluoroketone, because those are necessary for fusion power on other planets. But frankly, I don’t know why they added barrels of both hot and cold fluoroketone. Only hot would have been enough imo, this kind of feels needlessly convenient.

[Koub] Merged into an older thread with a similar suggestion.
The devs' answer so far : viewtopic.php?p=624235#p624235, so this is likely going to end up in "Won't Implement".

That's a bummer. Using bots to deliver barrels from island to island on Fulgora is nice, at least for the stuff you can barrel. I would be nice to do that with Holmium solution and electrolyte.
