I found a mod that did this, and updated it for 2.0 ~ it is called Far ZoomYou can currently snap the camera zoom level to the default value of 1 with F9, and you can also go to 2x zoom with CTRL+F9. It would be super useful to me if it was also an option to set the zoom to max distance with a hotkey, for example Shift+F9.
I don't want to break the rules here by adding an extra suggestion, but this is related to the same camera zoom function.. When in map view, it might be nice if the zoom levels were adjusted when using the F9 key. IMO it should snap to the default map zoom level, but currently it zooms in to normal view outside of map mode.
