I started new game, in single player, and started making the factory. Did a simple power station consisting of a pump, a boiler and a steam engine. No automatic coal inserter, for now I was doing it manually. It was producing electricity correctly. Then I put 4th mining drill, and suddenly it shown red "no power" triangle. And at that time my previous drills lost power as well. Debugging the power issue, I found out that the boiler is no longer on the same column as the pump, therefore it has no fluid input. I was several screen away when that move happened.
This happened only once so far.
I checked the autosave file from before the issue happened, and apparently the boiler was already misaligned there, though it was working while misaligned, somehow.
This is how it was working in autosave2 (attached) while being misaligned:
This is the state after it stopped producing electricity:
You can notice that the coal is partially used there, according to the red progress bar.
I think I created the game while 2.0.8, but I'm not sure. If this is the case, I don't remember whether I have put the boiler in place before or after 2.0.9 upgrade.

Re: [2.0.9] boiler/pump alignment issue
A way to force the misalignment from correct alignment would be interesting if you happen to find one.

Re: [2.0.9] boiler/pump alignment issue
Are you sure you didn't place it with the steam output to the East, let it get a bit of water, then rotate it to face West, disconnecting the offshore pump but keeping its inventory of water?
