[1.1.110] Cannot purge messages sent by the server

Hello, I cannot find a way to purge messages sent by the server. /purge, /purge server, /purge <server> do not work.

I regularly send automatic notices to players through the console (i.e. "Backup in progress...", "Server restart in 5 minutes", etc.) and would like to be able to delete old messages. As chat messages have no date/time attached to them, if no one types anything in between many server messages, it gets confusing for players whether or not what they see in chat is an old announcement or a new one, which is why I would like to be able to delete messages previously sent by the server with /purge before I send another one.
