Hello! I'm currently deciding on the blueprint template of a cityblock base (first attempt). I went for square block with roundabout intersections:
What I have not done for now is place down the rail signals. Could you guys check the image and tell me if they seem optimal to you for the current rail configuration or may be I should modify/remove something?
For example, the chain rail signals in the roundabout, the ones at 45°, 135°, 225° and 315°ish, are they pointless??
Block size is 100x100 and I plan to use 1-2 trains.
Thanks!
I seem to have gathered (too late) that roundabouts are not as efficient as one might suppose, but it's too late for me to change the basic layout and, in any case, I'll just have "fun" dealing with the consequences later (great wisdom pill).Suggestions on city block rails template
Re: Suggestions on city block rails template
The signalling looks good. The throughput wont be as good as a “proper” crossing.
That said, come monday the rails are going to change. In particular, the size of the arc when you have a rail turning will change. so, your BP will need to be redone then anyway. Any instances already built will still function; but you wont be able to keep using that BP once you start using 2.0.
