[Kovarex] [1.1.109] Smart belt placement not used when mouse button held before equipping belt

I'd like to preface this by saying that I see it as a feature, to quickly override the smart belt placement instead of having to navigate the settings to toggle it once every blue moon. But I doubt that this behavior is intended, that's why I'm reporting.

How to replicate:
1. Press LMB with empty cursor.
2. Select a belt from the shortcut bar using the keyboard shortcuts.
3. Drag belts around old school style.
