Lost my character after linking my steam account to mods.factorio.com account

Title pretty much says it all
I wanted to host a server for me and some friends, and it asked for a username/password
I haden't had a mods.factorio.com account, so I followed its instructions, and linked my steam account to it and was able to make the server successfully
The only problem now is that my character is gone?
All of the items in my inventory are missing, when I rejoin even single player games that I'd had forever, it gives me the 'This is factorio freeplay' message, as if I'd never played before.
And my character before was pink, which is no longer the case.

Is there any way to get my character and items back?
