TLDR
Similar to blueprint books let us make Train Stop groups.
What
Add a button on the train stop UI to assign the station to a group and ability to make/delete/edit group names.
Add filters in the Station tab to only see information on the selected group.
No train pathing or logic should need to change. Ideally as a meta tag stops could support multiple group associations.
Why
Different factories have different rail networks and I would like to elegantly group train stops by what rail network / factory they are a part of. The design principle is an iron ore unload *is* an iron ore unload regardless if it is serviced by a 2x4 train or a 4x8 train or in the 1k factory or 5k factory. I use a consistent train stop naming scheme across factories and legacy rail networks, this groups all the stops together in the train GUI. This can be overcome by adding prefixes* (prefixes not suffixes) to stop names, but the full list is still clunky and we lose naming stations after their function. It can also encourage smaller disconnected rail networks for specific tasks that won't clutter train organization. It can improve at a glance information gathering to see if sub networks are functioning correctly or assess progress in new construction.

Instead of groups I would use tags. Because stations can be grouped into different sets. The groups of ressource-types. The groups of delivery/request types. The length of trains. The positions of the loco… etc.
