TL;DR

Add a search box to the container/chest inventory GUI.

What ?

The ability to search inside, chests/cargo wagons to assist in finding items.

Why ?

The inventory and just about every other inventory/Gui has a search function except the one for chests, this will help with searching for items.

@Ssilk, the suggestion you merged was specifically targeted to containers, while the thread you merged it into was directed to the player's inventory, if I'm not mistaken.

TL;DR

The chest and other storage containers should be searchable.

What ?

The inventory of the player has a search functionality as shown in the image 3 with a minor discrepancy.
(Logistics trash slots as of 1.1.53)
I feel that this feature should also apply to chests and other similar entities (cargo wagons, cars, tanks, spiderton),
This will not affect how the GUI would look for these significantly as demonstrated in a mock-up in the top image

Why ?

I believe this should be a core feature of the game as nearly every other GUI in the game has a search box
This would help with readability within storage containers especially with modded games, I have looked for a modded solution with the vanilla search functionality.
