The new stack refill is good but could be even better.
What if the stack would be refilled to the exact amount that was grabbed.
It would allow inserting few pieces of coal to many burner inserters.
- if you grab 6 pieces of coal and right click on burner inserter it would put 3 in and refill stack to 6
- if you grab 6 pieces of coal and left click on burner inserter it would put 6 in and refill stack to 6
- if you grab full stack of items it works exactly as it works in 0.12
It is even more convenient for refilling early turrets when you do not have enough bullets to put 50 into each gun.
You can virtually put any desired amount of resource repeatedly.

This is actually a very good idea. I'd love this over the current system.

Am I not allowed to spam posts with the word "bump" over the next 8 years?
But seriously, I really like this idea. I hope that this get implemented into the game.

I agree that would be very useful - could divide nicely by 4 when putting into machines.
And would make putting 3 modules into 4 slot machines much easier.

Re: Even better way of cursor stack refill
This drives me also crazy.
And what drives me crazy too, is that I manage somehow to split my stacks. I don't know exactly how I do this, but when I look in my inventory I see many stacks, which are "doubled" in the inventory AND the hot-bar.
For example what I see is:
- 2 basic inserters in the inventory, 48 basic inserters in the hot-bar
- 13 poles in the inventory, 37 poles in the hot-bar.
And so on. I mean: It takes up one stack and it costs some time to resort this.
And what I also don't like: On some items I can shift-click and all items are in the trash-slots. On some others not. I don't get under which conditions this happens.

Re: Even better way of cursor stack refill
I kind of manage this particular problem clicking with ctr on an empty inventory slot. It refills hotbar stacks and work best if all hotbar slots are filtered. Thanks to patch 12.1 it no longer moves all raw resources to trash.ssilk wrote:This drives me also crazy.

Ya, I know. The problem is, that you don't see, which items are doublets. You must search for them, if your inventory is suddenly full.
