weird performance issue (fps)

Hi,
I've noticed the problem during the firsts 3 lvls of the campaign. The character running was not smooth, it was like : fast-fast-slow-fast-slow-...
The problem is that the fps was not 60 but 40. Before going further I've tested this on 0.6.4 and 0.7.0 with both 32 and 64 bits.
Onto the weird part:
  • In windowed mode the fps is @ 60, no matter what I do with the options (except the slow fps mode that sets it to 30)
  • In fullscreen mode the fps drop to 40, but :
    • - it goes up to 60 fps when in full debug mode ô_O
      - it goes up to 50 fps when in basic debug mode
      - with the 32bit version, limiting the threads to 1 seems to improves the fps to 50 (need more testing)
      - otherwise no other options seems to change the fps
The problem I have is that I'm playing on a 4:3 monitor with a resolution of 1280:1204. In windowed mode the window takes all the width but only 1/3 of the height and I want to see more up and down as-well. Fullscreen mode gives what I want but it slows down the fps.
Luckily the 64bit version allows to maximize the windowed mode and I can now play @ 60 fps with a good field of view. But this seems to be a cheap trick, especially considering the 32 bit version does not allow to maximize the window.

Maximizing the window seems to work well, why are we not allowed to resize the window as we want ? and is there a plan to change the game resolution in the future ?
