Newbie Demo failed launch

Hey all, ive wanted to try the game out for a while, after a friend told me about it, but after trying to install on my windows machine, by both the .EXE launcher and the Zip file, my machine dosnt reconize the files, what loader or launcher am i missing to launch the demo of the game? and yes i am a newbie to the game.

What computer do you have?

Windows 8 based (not of my own willing), 3570k, Asus Maximus V, ect ect..

what it keeps coming up as, it keeps saying it dosnt reconize the any of files at all, and tries to find a file loader.

It sounds like the download is failing partway through. Is the file size 96 MB (or 109 MB for the zip)?

Another poster had trouble downloading with IE, maybe try a different browser?

Well going threw the game files i found it was a .CST file that was the probelm, so i got it working, but the .EXE file wasnt reading and wasnt loading into it. thus it wouldnt even load at all. kinda weird, but it happens.

There aren't any cst files in any of Factorio release types, so really I don't know what you downloaded :-)
