Help with Logistics Chests

Greetings,

I am having problems understanding how the logistics network works. I have several Roboports connected throughout my network with several Logistics and Construction robots. I wanted to transport Plastic from one side of my base to the other. I setup my output with the red Passive Provider Chest and my input with the Blue Requester Chest set to request Plastic. Both chests are placed within the green or orange Roboport hues. Nothing happened after a couple of minutes (no plastic was transported from the Red chest to the Blue chest).

I was curious as to what I did wrong and how I can fix it.

Both chests are placed within the green or orange Roboport hues.

Green is only for new construction, all logistics must be in orange.
