3D model source files?

Post by Zhall »

Are the sprites used in the game renders of 3d models?

If so is there a place to get them, or do I need to remodel them myself?

I have "plans" :D

Yes they are 3D models in Blender.

No you can't have them.

They are not publicly aviable. What do you need them for and which ones? Maybye, if you ask gently and give a good reason, devs will share some of them with you.

Oh how rude of me... yes yes of course..

I will be doing something like this with them

(I own that channel)

All I would need is a .STL , nothing more. I'm not here to steal anyone's property, just manufacture things from a game about manufacturing things.

Why? I think it would be great if the devs released them. Not all of them of course, but a few examples to let modders know how the devs do it would help a lot. Just look at how mod graphics look now, even the best user models are terribly inconsistent with the game's default assets. Bohemia Interactive did this with Arma and it worked out well for them.

I just ignore this kind of users with the Very Valuable Professional Opinion. No reasoning, no background, 0 authority or recognition besides postcount.

Also, free bump for the thread.

In an attempt to reawaken an old thread, I'd like to say that I'd love to have one or two of the models for 3D printing, or even retexturing/coloring if I could get the .blend files.

I'd like to have access to the assets too. Creating mods that replicate in game entities can be difficult with photoshop alone. Having a set of 3D objects to work with would be very helpful
