"Player prototype required but missing"

Everytime I try to load a save I get the message "Player prototype required but missing".

I can't load any save, even though I could play with the version before (0.11.20).

I tried updating to 0.11.21 but it didn't help.

Even reinstalling the game didn't work.

Did you accidentally disable the base mod?

I did not - but I ticked the box "automatically enable new mods" and it worked
