Hello,
I finally got into trains and rails in Factorio, but I think I am doing something wrong.
Basically, when I try to build a track in cirlcle-like shape it usually ends like this: http://puu.sh/3y4WH.jpg
Sure, the trains can go on those just fine, but isn't there a better way to do this?
In http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vmp66SmUztQ I can see fine, round pieces of track.
What am I doing wrong? Or is it just me thinking that the rails in video are actually rounder?
Rails
Re: Rails
This is an optical Illusion. Zoom in and you'll see, that the rails are round...
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

I feel like an idiot now.

Re: Rails
Well, I guess this is intended, and they might be round, but they aren't circular, no matter how you build them: https://wrtlprnft.net/factorio_circle.png
Edit: I do like how you can build really chaotic intersections: https://wrtlprnft.net/factorio_chaos.png

Re: Rails
It isn't round, cause there is a pice of straight track between the 45 degrees curves, but I meant the optical illusion of convex instead of concave when you look at them. It's either concave nor convex it's straight.

Re: Rails
I think the following image kind of explains what's going on:
As you can see, the rails in the curved rail segments are pretty perfect circles, but they aren't concentric. This means that diagonal straight rail segments are a tiny bit narrower than horizontal/vertical segments.
The transition between a curved segment and a straight diagonal segment contains a very tiny corner on both rails, but that's hardly noticeable.
