The basic idea is to save the copied settings by entity.
Example, you have a blue print for a preset production setup. You want to make more Electronic Circuits than trees, so you copy the assembly machines, a mix of Assembling machine 2s and Assembling machine 3s as well as requester chests and smart inserters handling buffering. Place the blueprint down one by one and just shift left click them all! You never to need constantly run between different machines for each new setting making you a more time efficient factory builder.
