Question about a graphical option

I play factorio in german language. and there is an option, which is not translated:

"Light entity info background"

What does this? When i try to translate this, i become gibberish results, so i can not imaginate, for was this option is. *g*

P.S.:
I marked "I don't know" by the question about spambots by the registration. After all I play factorio... With many robots!

The name is a bit confusing, I agree.
If you press the Alt key (by default) you will get more info displayed - namely, each machine has the icon of it's recipe on it, and every container has the icon(s) of it's contents. The icons are displayed with diffused black background. The "light entity info background" changes this background to be solid white, so it is easier to see the icons.
