Optimize me?

So, this is my first base with very little research about the game after playing the campaign for just a little. Any tips for me that I could use to optimize it, clean it up and get a better iron line going? As you can tell my iron is bottle necked HARD. I'd love to reach end game. Please and thanks!

Also, ignore that cluster of fail to the left... I had no idea what the refinery did, I thought it pulled the oil by itself but then I found the pumpjack lol.

that's one of my smaller factiories, it should put some ideas in your mind You should basically have more than one assembler for every item and also you should organise belts in some way. Building in such tight place as on your pic isn't easy nor profitable.

I didn't think much of just rolling a new map, I took what I had and ran with it. I checked out my big map after full radar sweeps and there's a place to the right of me has some decent nodes and it's fully open, however it's got alien bases on both sides. So I'm not sure how to go about fully relocating a whole base. Or I could head south and and just train copper in from the north or east.



Also in that picture you got some VERY large nodes which is helpful. I just got small ones littered about.
