Sometimes I can only go forward and sometimes backwards

With the car, since 0.4 or 0.5 update, not sure, sometimes I can only go forward, and sometimes (rarely) I can only go backwards (I think that when I remove and place the car back it changes from backwards to forward randomly, and most of the times is only forward)

Aren't you simply running into a "braking aid" feature, which prevents you from moving in reverse while braking?

you hold ↑ to start moving forward.
you hold ↓ to brake and stop.
The car stops and doesn't start going in reverse, no matter how long you hold ↓. (feature)

You need to release and press ↓ again to go in reverse.
