Version 2.1.19

Post by FactorioBot »

Bugfixes
  • Fixed unable to throw grenades and other capsules. (136149)
Previous changelog: Version 2.1.18

New versions are released as experimental first and later promoted to stable. If you wish to switch to the experimental version on Steam, choose the experimental Beta Participation option under game settings; on the stand-alone version, check Experimental updates under Other settings.

It was so fast i had no time to ask if we're getting closer to a stable 2.1 on previous version, but that kinda answers it : yes ! by steps x).

New sound added to Assembling Machines makes me unable to concentrate. It is too loud, irregular, disruptive. How do I get rid of it?

Edit: I found mod called "Zar's Sound Muffler" and added "0:assembling-machine" to Settings/Mod Settings/Startup/Entity types. This mutes assembling machines completely - which would be temporary workaround for me. Offending sounds are
Factorio/data/base/sound/entity/assembling-machine/assembling-machine-mech-impact-*.ogg
I suppose better thing would be to replace these with empty sound file - but those would be probably overwritten on update - so proper solution would be mod like Audio Tweaks.

Edit: You can generate dummy sound file using

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -f lavfi -i anullsrc=r=48000:cl=stereo -t 1 -c:a libvorbis silent.ogg
on Linux. If you replace assembling-machine-mech-impact-*.ogg files with silent.ogg, you will get old sound behaviour.

I felt the same way, the change to me was a bit jarring so I modded it to revert back to previous sounds.

Do you have any rough idea on when 2.1 will be ready to leave experimental? Sorry if this was already answered somewhere, but I could not find it.

FFF-440 says:
Once released, we will have the usual bugfixing, before our summer vacations start in July. Importantly, we plan to keep 2.1 as experimental over the whole summer (I.E, not mark it stable), so that mod authors will have plenty of time to update.
Astronomical Summer ends on September 22nd; I would not expect 2.1 to become Stable for a while longer yet.
