Implement the floaty brain thingies
Hear me out:
Fulgora
Friendly
They are what remains of Fulgora's ruined civilisation, because they evolved past the need for bodies or buildings
They can be befriended
They think that lesser life forms are adorable (this might include the engineer), and can be brought to other planets after a modicum of persuasion (but only one at a time, they don't like each other)
New buildings: "Overseer Tower" on the surface and "Overseer Cabin" on platforms (maximum of 1 per platform and Vulcanus sector, and not very overlappable radii elsewhere)
Given a new residence, our thoughtey new friends will use the high vantage point to study the local wildlife, pacifying meanies in a large radius on Nauvis and Gleba using their potent brain waves (raiding party? more like pick-nick party!) and preventing the big meanie of whichever Vulcanus sector they are placed in from aggroing (but it will still perform its patrol, incidentally destroying whatever it happens to run over)
Also super useful to prevent the fallout from eggs hatching where they shouldn't

And befriending them could somehow grant an upgraded roboport with 64 range instead of 50, to match chunk sizes!

Re: Implement the floaty brain thingies
they never made it past the concept art stage, and are almost never going to be added - especially into the base space age
coder? i hardly know her!
Re: Implement the floaty brain thingies
Oh oh oh, and they could do **something** for the logistic system
Possibly in exchange for nutrients

But that was as an Aquilo foe, I'm suggesting a Fulgora friend!MrSmoothieHuman wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 11:50 pm they never made it past the concept art stage, and are almost never going to be added - especially into the base space age![]()

Electricity, rather!Almalexia wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 10:38 am Oh oh oh, and they could do **something** for the logistic system

Being from Fulgora, it makes sence that they would like electricity
An upgraded organic roboport that used them as bots would be amazing (unlocked on Fulgora with some Gleba stuff)

Regardless, that's still just making a new enemy basically from scratch. In matters of game design, a picture isn't worth much.Almalexia wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 10:39 amBut that was as an Aquilo foe, I'm suggesting a Fulgora friend!MrSmoothieHuman wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 11:50 pm they never made it past the concept art stage, and are almost never going to be added - especially into the base space age![]()

Besides, putting enemies on Fulgora has the problem of dealing with the fact that Fulgora has no access to coal. Which means that many of the good weapons will be unavailable. Drone capsules are doable, but they can't be used without the player being present, so they're not an automatable option. Laser turrets are iffy on a planet with semi-inconsistent power, and teslas are right-out the window unless you have legendary accumulators. So your choices are basically gun turrets, flamethrower turrets, and maybe lasers.
You don't want to have basic defense of a planet being contingent on routine exports of resources. Even defense on Gleba can be managed with just local resources and materials.

Your entire argument is contingent upon them being enemies, which is the opposite of what I am proposingAlfonse215 wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 3:41 pmRegardless, that's still just making a new enemy basically from scratch. My free limits has been reached. Please make it someone please?

*pro tip, if you have some cycles to make it run, make the mod have expansive settings, changing it from an enemy to a helper or a just a dumb floater or whatever you like. Yeah... FFF when?
