TL;DR
The suggestion is to consistently apply the color when pressing CTRL while editing all stations for consistency. CTRL can be used to rename all stations of a certain type, however, this only applies to the name, not remaining properties, specifically not color. It may be worthwhile exploring bulk-editing options for trains and stations using the train/station manager. What?
Players can currently rename stations in bulk to align names using CTRL - this will edit the name of all stations, but will not apply extended properties, e.g. color (and other configurations). For a consistent color-coding of trains and their stations to indicate cargo, it would be beneficial if using the CTRL, essentially as an 'edit all' feature, to consistently apply remaining settings, e.g. color, possibly others.Alternatively, it could be looked into whether the train/station management (O hotkey) could offer extended options to edit trains and stations in bulk in order to facilitate the standardization and bulk-editing capabilities.
This feature would synergize well with parameterized blueprints, since these do not have parameters for e.g. color, however, having a bulk editing feature available could enable this standardization easily.
Why?
Parameterized blueprints cannot be used to apply cargo-specific colors. Having trains and stations color-coded would require copy-pasting the station setup across trains/stations, or creating defined blueprints for these (which defeats the intent of parameterized ones, while adding clutter). Doing this consistently currently requires very deliberate building, however, edits would be complicated and will need to be manually applied to all stations.Having more control over stations and trains using bulk-editing would greatly facilitate the standardization.
