[2.1.7] Crash forcing wayland: "SDL_Error: wayland not available"
[2.1.7] Crash forcing wayland: "SDL_Error: wayland not available"
Attempting to set the Preferred video driver option on my computer to wayland does cause Factorio to launch with wayland, and forcing wayland with the SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland option crashes the game

Something in your environment is preventing the game from detecting the wayland socket. Moving to technical help.

Re: [2.1.7] [Linux] Wayland Setting does not work.
You are using rolling release distro with frequent updates which can introduce regressions and bugs from time to time. Looks like you just hit one. Report it to Arch developers to fix. Or reinstall your system to normal timed release OS to resolve this painlessly.notLily72 wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2026 9:23 pm My system is running Arch Linux with KDE Plasma 6.7 Wayland.
