[2.1.12] Text input does not replace in space platform hub item request

Post by McGordon »

The text field in Space platform hub item request has the wrong behaviour. In MacOS, if a piece of text is selected, when you start typing, the selected text is replaced with what you type. The text field to request items in the Space Platform Hub behaves differently.

e.g. I had a request for 500 calcite from Vulcanus. I first clicked on the request with the mouse, then select all text in the box with one of these methods:
• Press Tab and the text is selected automatically
• Command-A
• Dragging the mouse over the text
All 3 of these methods work as normal up to this point.

I then type 1k to change it to 1000. Now it appends "1000" on the end so I get "5001000" or about 50M. This is not limited to the k or M shortcuts, any text that is typed will be appended to the end of the field instead of replacing it.
This started with 2.1 and all other text fields that I've used seem to be ok.

Edit: Sometimes it works correctly and replaces the text. I can't see any pattern for what makes it work sometimes.

This looks to be a duplicate of 135195

Yes it is a duplicate, sorry.
I was using the numeric keypad to type numbers. When I use the normal numbers above the qwerty keys, everything works fine.
I didn't notice the cursor being moved until I tried "1234" and get "1243" with the cursor moved as in 135195.
