[StrangePan][2.1.11] MacOS Issues: when loaded, game is totaly pink

First, thank you for your amazing work.
Second, I believe I found a bug.

This was reported for 2.11.10 and should be resolved in this instance, but it is still the same.


I am running Factorio on my Mac: MacBook Air, 13", M1, 2021, 8GB RAM, macOS Tahoe 26.5.2
I play on the Steam version of Factorio
I have just updated my game to the latest version 2.1.11, and I find my game all pink, as the screenshot shows.

Experimental 2.1.9 should not have this problem.

I tested with and without mods, the issue seems to be triggered regardless. Here's my log from the no mods run and my config. No worries about it, I'm sure you guys are hard at work thanks for the macOS love

Thank you for providing the additional information and files. With them, I was able to reproduce the issue. I also found a workaround, which you can use to continue playing on 2.1.11 while I work on a fix.

To work around this issue on 2.1.11, you can try disabling High-quality animations or reducing Texture compression quality to "Low Quality", or both. This should reduce the amount of VRAM Factorio consumes during loading and reduce the likelihood of this happening.

Update: I’ve identified the root cause and am working on a set of fixes, and some logging for when errors like this happen again. I’m aiming to have this fixed for good in 2.1.12. Thank you all for your patience!
