What did you do?
I have a space platform that produces space platform foundation in space for my other platforms
What happened?
I turned on "Auto request missing construction materials" on the platform
Now, every other platform with requests reads as "available on platform: 0"
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
It should correctly resupply the other platforms
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
Always

I think there's some intended logic where platforms don't supply to other platforms while building, and so it "blocks" sending off things like inserters to other platforms as soon as they arrive. This is good. But it SHOULD allow supplying an item, even if it's in the auto-construction requests, as long as the needed amount is 0 (ie the supply is met). This way, we can just leave "auto request" turned on and not have to explicitly make sure to turn it off.
EDIT: This was originally a different bug report about ships not being resupplied upon returning, but on further testing, this is the actual issue.
[2.1.10] Space Platforms don't supply other platforms when "Auto request missing construction materials" is turned on

Thanks for the report however this is not a bug. Platforms will not provide items that they have request filters for. It works this way otherwise as soon as items arrive for construction they would instantly get sent back to anyone requesting them.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

I can understand why this is the case, but I feel like the logic should be amended to ALLOW providing items, IF the request filter is at zero (meaning, they currently don't need any). Maybe if they have 1 stack already, then they can distribute any excess.Rseding91 wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 1:38 pm Thanks for the report however this is not a bug. As it is currently, that checkbox is essentially a blocker for certain items with no warning, which is going to trip up other players the same way it's tripped me up.

The request goes to 0 as soon as the item(s) arrive so that's functionally the same as just letting them be provided when there's a request for them.sarge945 wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 2:18 pm I can understand why this is the case, but I feel like the logic should be amended to ALLOW providing items, IF the request filter is at zero (meaning, they currently don't need any). Maybe the simpler solution is when an autorequest gets fulfilled, it gets fully removed instead of staying as a request of 0 of that item? Personally I was anyways doing the uncheck+recheck cause OCD, it was... aesthetically annoying that they would remain as requests
Re: [2.1.10] Space Platforms don't supply other platforms when "Auto request missing construction materials" is turned o
i mean the real solution then is to clear the building queue when there is no construction ongoing on the platform so there aren't useless blocker requests for construction.Rseding91 wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 2:39 pmThe request goes to 0 as soon as the item(s) arrive so that's functionally the same as just letting them be provided when there's a request for them.sarge945 wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 2:18 pm I can understand why this is the case, but I feel like the logic should be amended to ALLOW providing items, IF the request filter is at zero (meaning, they currently don't need any).
