Hide unresearched items in icon selection menus

Post by zin »

The ability to hide unresearched items, entities, and tiles in Factoriopedia – added in 2.1.7 – is fantastic, but I’d love for this to be extended to the icon selection menu, and the circuitry signal menu, as well. That is, the menu that appears when selecting an icon for your save, a blueprint or blueprint book, or an upgrade or destruction planner – or a circuitry signal.

I’ve always wanted this even before 2.1 since it’d not only hide spoilers for Space Age or modded content (or vanilla content if you’re a new player) but would reduce clutter as well. An identical toggle button to Factoriopedia which shares its state would be great.

I’d say there’s likely some demand for this given the mod Hide Space Age Spoilers. I believe the mod does this, though it’s not dynamic and not dependent on what you’ve researched. This feature would be more convenient and would also work for vanilla and modded content.
