Escape should toggle menu without toggling Remote View

TL;DR

Sometimes we might want to sit in remote view for hours, especially in Space Age if we're on another planet. Opening and closing the menu interrupts that and forces us to re-open the remote view and find our place.

What?

Escape shouldn't close remote view. Instead, it should simply open the menu on top of remote view.

Why?

I hate having to constantly re-adjust myself after every save.

Not sure how these buttons are configured by default, but "back" brings you right to the position in remoteview where you have been before you pressed ESC.
Sometimes it feels I have to press twice, because nothing happens on the first press
